About Me

Hello new friends, colleagues, or random individuals who stumbled across this site!

My name is Tasia! I'm an instructional designer, an artist, and a teacher (to name a few things) who thrives when creating, connecting, and collaborating with others.

I was a public school teacher for almost ten years. Using a backward planning approach, I successfully developed an arts education program structured around measurable learning objectives for beginning and advanced art, and yearbook classes. I enjoyed creating a year-long curriculum integrating art history, the elements of art, and immersive and engaging learning experiences for my students.

I completed an M.S. in Instructional Sciences & Technology in 2019, focusing on helping companies and teams meet their goals and close learning gaps. While in this program, I learned about design methodologies like ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy, and Gagne's 9 Events of Instruction in my content design.

In my current role as an instructional designer, I love supporting the instructors at our site. I have become proficient in using Microsoft-based apps to help design and make teaching content available to students. I have also become very skilled in supporting instructors with structuring their courses in our LMS; I often use software like Adobe Captivate, Articulate, and Camtasia (one of my favorites) to design interactive and engaging instructional content for synchronous and asynchronous, in-person and distance learning courses.

In my free time, I'm an artist, a photographer, an outdoors enthusiast, a runner, an animal fosterer, an explorer, and most importantly, a lifelong learner!
